What a great turn out for the Ogmore in the Go-Race last night.  On Wednesday I made the snap decision to gop down for a laugh when offered a lift.  Phil, Chris 'The lead out' Deeley, Tony ' Come back kid' Howell and Mark 'ave a go' Alexander.

The 2/3/4 race was represented by Graham 2nd claim Grin' Howell and last, but far from least Rob 'eternal second' Powell Cool.

I chickened out and went in the Go race. Undecided  Where there were 3 forza, 4 Ogmore 1 ponypool and a a collection of others.

It began with Steve Reynolds inaxplicably going off the front bansai sstyle fortwo laps beforee blowing up. and I got straight into the break consisting of the two Forzas and myself which lasted for about 15 min and 1/2 a lap before I got stuck on the front on the back straight just once too many times and was dropped.   I kept it going yo-yoing about 100m away for another 10 min.  I caught Chris and he kindly burried himself down the back straight to give me a break and I suddenly got caught by 3 chasers so sat there for a the last five laps until the final corner and won the sprint Cool

Tony apparently came 4th.  I was whisked away by my lift as the main event was lining up.

Reports of my 4th place were premature. I've since found out that Ruby and ANOther also finished in front of me so I was 6th. I did however come 2nd in the 3 way sprint with the leader and 2nd placed man, they lapped me 100 yds short of the finish line.

I had some good coaching from Mark Matthews on how to take the bends by the signing on hut and as a result I got faster and faster through them as the race progressed.

If only I'd had longer to warm up I might not have gotten dropped on the 2nd lap only to have to claw my way, timetrial style back through the field.

Apparently the next go-race is on the 5th Aug 7pm. £5 if you have a licence and £10 if you don't. It was great fun. If you haven't road raced before and want to try I'd recommend giving this format a go.

Damn, it just isn't fair.  In contrast to you I did well in the chicane  gaining a lot of distance on the home straight and complex.  I suffered on my own down the back straight.
